Tell us about your first day at something — school, work, as a parent, etc.

I am the second oldest out of 6, including me. So, that’s four younger siblings that I help take care of, which I am proud to say was like a practice run for me. It was helping with my younger siblings that let me know that I wanted to be a mom in the first place. I love kids and I didnt have the thing some siblings have when a new baby came home. I loved it, it was awesome for me, finding that out and also being a big sister. My first time holding my own son though hit different, I was so excited and scared at the same time. I was also amazed that this little bundle of joy came out of me, I was also exhausted because having him wasnt smooth sailing. I had millions of questions and concerns about wether i was doing things right. Do i follow all the things I read about or just modify it to what works for me.

I couldnt relax that much after having my son and i didnt want to let him out of my sight. i read, saw shows, heard about things going wrong at the hospitals, twitched at birth, kidnapping; woman walking the halls who have been pretending to be pregnant just for the opportunity to walk out with a baby of their own. It was all scary for first time moms like me. I made my kids father go with him whenever he left the room, if he could go the whole way great if not he stayed as close as he coild so when our son came back out he was right there waiting. I hope it didnt drive him crazy but i can honestly say I didnt care cause i was making sure my son was safe.
